We believe that one of the best ways to experience other culture is through its cuisine. If you follow where the locals go, chances are you will be able to find legit local food at best value.
Here, we compiled some tips that we really find useful when we were in Japan, all of which are based on our personal experience during our 8-day trip.
Visited 4 cities: Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, and Tokyo on April 09 – 16, 2017.
We started browsing for our Japan trip as early as 4 months prior to our travel period. It was more of just bookmarking websites and clipping articles and blogs through OneNote. Then, it took us several weeks of serious researching to finally come up with the itinerary as detailed as below. You might think that it’s kinda overkill, but trust us it will be a great help especially if you’re in a country where people speak very little to no English at all. While quite a handful that we asked somehow understood us, we on the other hand, had a hard time understanding them. So even though they’re very much willing to help especially when giving directions, the language becomes a barrier, hence getting lost will certainly take up a portion of your time.
Travel dates: June 11- 14, 2015.
We came all the way from Manila, and it took us a total of 12 hours to get to Tambaron island. We left Manila at 4:00 AM and arrived in Bulalacao around 4:00 PM. But I believe the travel time from Manila to Bulalacao should only take around 8-9 hours. It took us so long because of our sidetrip at Calapan City and the many stopovers that we had.
We’ve compiled a list of restaurants based on our own research and suggestions from friends. But we hadn’t finalized it yet until we arrived in Coron as we wanted to include suggestions from the locals there.
There’s so much to see in Coron. It has beautiful white sand beaches, lagoons, lakes, and a vibrant, diverse marine life. If you love diving and snorkeling or just being under the water, this must be heaven for you.
Looking for a place to stay in Coron during off-peak season is easy, you can actually just walk-in to the hotels located in the town proper. Upon arrival at the airport, a number of people offering van transfer service would welcome you and most of them would recommend their hotel partners. In our case, since it was our first time in Coron we booked a room via Agoda a few months prior to our trip to be sure that we will have a nice place to stay. As much as possible we wanted a hassle-free and relaxed vacation.
