Sarsa Kitchen+Bar offers traditional Filipino and Negrense dishes with a twist. It’s been creating buzz among foodies since it started, so we have the urge to try it especially when it opened in SM Megamall.
What we ordered
Isol (chicken tail) -P185 ; Inasal Pa-a (Chicken Thigh and Leg)P185
Brainy Pork Sisig -P325
Food: 8/10 – We were not that impressed with the food. The brainy sisig was too bitter for our liking, probably because of too much liver in it. The chicken inasal didn’t suit our taste buds as well. It was too oily, the meat tasted dry and flavorless. Their chicken tail tasted okay, but was a bit tough and chewy.
Place: 8/10 – The restaurant has just opened in SM Megamall. The overall aura of the place looks enticing to dine and since it’s new, we have to try it.
Service: 8/10 – Their service was quite fast during our visit on a weeknight.
Value for money: 6/10 – Too pricey for the taste and quantity of serving.
We left the restaurant not satisfied. So sad. 😦
*Update (5 Feb 2017): To be fair, we tried dining here again with friends as per their request, and also to give this restaurant a second chance. We ordered Pansit Palabok, Oven Roasted Pork Belly, and Twice-Cooked Pork Belly. When the food was served, all looked nice and appetizing. And surprise, surprise, they all tasted delicious this time! The pork were tender and juicy. We liked the sauce of the twice-cooked pork belly too, which is similar to Kare-Kare sauce but with added flavors of garlic and chili. We are happy and satisfied on our second visit. Perhaps, they just need to be consistent with their cooking.
