Locavore Kitchen and Drinks in Pasig

When food tripping in Kapitolyo, make sure not to miss this restaurant. Locavore serves Filipino food with a “twist”. The food choices are unique and flavorful. The servings are big enough for sharing.

What we ordered

Their Sizzling Sinigang which is their signature dish was a spot on. It was a beef stew with sour gravy that truly tasted like tamarind just like how we like it in a Sinigang soup. The beef was tender and tasty. It is one of those dishes that is best partnered  with rice.

Another best seller that we ordered was the Kare-kare wings. It was not a stew like what I had in mind, but just fried chicken wings covered entirely with peanut sauce served with few slices of green mangoes and singkamas, and two dips on the side (buttermilk and bagoong).

Overall rating: 8/10

Taste: 9/10 –  They need to improve on the consistency of their tenderized beef because on our last visit, we were served with tough cuts of beef.

Place: 8/10 –  When visiting this place, make sure you have a reservation as this restaurant tends to be full even after the peak hours. The place has an air-conditioned area which can only accommodate a handful of customers. If you come in late, there’s also a huge al fresco area for you to dine.

Service: 8/10 –  Service was quite fast during our 2 visits (on a weekday, around 6:00 pm).

Value for money: 7/10 –  The dishes were pricey but had big servings. Budget for 2 persons would cost around P800 – P900 for two (2) main dishes and one (1) serving of rice. Drinks not included.
